Difference Engine: Unplugging the Cables

Let’s face it, nobody likes that tangled web of cables hanging underneath your computer desk or around your television set. Well, thanks to glorious technological advancements in the form of Gigabit Wi-Fi, this might soon be a problem of the past. Of course, electronics still need to be plugged into power sockets, but the means for delivering signals are about to go wireless in a big way – which means unplugging that tangle of cables. The switch is mainly being driven by the sheer size of today’s high-resolution multimedia files – sought to be transferred from one device to another – and this transition makes for abundant bandwidth. Hooray! The future is now.
