Drawing his audiences’ attention to research, Ron indicates that this evolutionarily contagious behavior is responsible for a wealth of benefits above and beyond a favorable disposition. A number of the lesser-know yet scientifically validated effects of smiling include coming across as a more competent individual, counteract the negative effects of stress, increase one’s level of mood-enhancing hormones like endorphins, and reduce overall blood pressure.
