Shirky also believes that developments in the media impact greatly upon the type of arguments that are possible – and simultaneously encourages great social and political consequences. In this thought-provoking TED talk, Shirky shines the spotlight on democracies, and how they may want to consider taking a feather out of the internet’s cap. He proposes that these governments should consider becoming not only transparent – in the same way the internet is – but should also consider employing the knowledge of all their citizens…
