INSIGHT-Apple, BMW in courtship with an eye on car collaboration

A courtship by BMW and Apple, previously put on hold, may rekindle after an precursory visit by executives of the world’s top maker of electronic gadgets to the headquarters of the word’s biggest seller of premium cars. Senior Apple executives toured the carmaker’s Leipzig factory to learn how it manufactures the i3 electric car, but dialogue was stunted as Apple is apparently interested in developing their own passenger car. BMW is understandable cautious when it comes to sharing its manufacturing prowess and does not want to simply be a supplier to a software giant.
