Google’s Management Shuffle: Google Turns a New Page

Google has announced that Eric Schmidt, the firm’s chief executive, will be handing over the reigns as the company’s CEO to co-founder Larry Page. Schmidt will become executive chairman, dedicating his efforts to acquisitions and government relations, while continuing to act as an adviser to Page and Sergey Brin, Google’s other co-founder. While surprising, the change certainly seems to be a move in the right direction. Former Google employees have expressed that the company has lost a degree of its original entrepreneurial spirit, and its more recent bureaucratic nature has made it near impossible to get anything done. This leadership reshuffle is expected to help streamline processes and better manage such issues. All eyes are now on Page to see how he will choose to steer this ship…
